When is toast not just toast? When it is covered with toppings like an open-faced sandwich, it is called a tartine. A fun way to eat avocado is as a protein-packed toast topper. Try your own combination of toppings.
What you need:
1 thick slice of bread, toasted
Half of a fresh avocado, mashed
2 thick slices of tomato
salt and pepper
How you do it:
Spread toasted bread with mashed avocado, and top with tomato slices.
Sprinkle with a tiny bit of salt and pepper.
Eat!
